Lara Taylor is a professional civil engineer with a master’s degree in resource and environmental management (fisheries management). Her combination of skills and experience provides her with a unique perspective on regulatory processes as well as gives her the ability to act as the interface between engineering and environment teams. Lara has more than 17 years of experience providing strategic regulatory advice to project proponents, supporting due diligence processes, and undertaking third‐party reviews on behalf of government agencies and Crown corporations. She has extensive experience managing environmental assessments under the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Act, the Impact Assessment Act and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 as well as the British Columbia Development Plan process for clean energy projects. Lara also has in‐depth knowledge of permitting processes, particularly under the Water Sustainability Act, Land Act and Oil and Gas Activities Act, and providing proponents with regulatory and environmental support during project design, construction and operation.
